Engaging the Public

 

The Institute of Physics in Wales actively encourages its members and others to communicate exciting aspects and applications of physics to a wide audience

Practical support in terms of help, advice and selected resources is available from the Physics in Society team, contact physics.society@iop.org or the Institute of Physics in Wales Branch Committee who can be contacted via the national officer on Angharad.Thomas@iop.org.

Funding Opportunities:

The Institute of Physics has a Public Engagement Grant Scheme which is designed to give financial support of up to £1000 to individuals and organisations running physics-based events and activities in the UK and Ireland.

The Welsh Assembly Government provides a small fund of money to help stimulate and support science, engineering and technology events and activities throughout Wales. The BA (The British Association for the Advancement of Science) is co-ordinating these awards. For further information click here.

The Engineering and Physics Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) provides support for the research community interested in engaging with the public. For further details click here.
